# Staking

Stake SEED to earn LEAF continuously. No lock-ups, claim anytime, unstake anytime. Rates, flow, and strategy.

Staking is Pixotchi's patience engine: lock nothing, commit everything. Deposit SEED, watch LEAF accrue by the second, and withdraw whenever you like.

The rate is a live onchain setting (checked 12 September 2026); the dialog always shows the current ratio and your projected daily earnings.

## How to stake

1. Tap **Stake** in the header.
2. If prompted, approve enough SEED for the amount you want to stake. Approval can be required again if its allowance is insufficient, reduced, or revoked.
3. Enter an amount, tap **Stake**. Done: LEAF starts accruing immediately.
4. Return anytime to **Claim** rewards or **Unstake**.

Staking and claiming both count toward daily missions, two of the easiest Rocks on the board.

## Staking without the game

Not everyone holding SEED wants to run a farm. [**stake.pixotchi.tech**](https://stake.pixotchi.tech) is a standalone staking app that does exactly one job: connect, stake SEED, watch LEAF accrue, claim, unstake.

* **Same contract, same position.** It reads and writes the same onchain staking contract as the game, so your stake, your accrued LEAF, and your place on the Stakers leaderboard are identical on both. Stake in the app, claim on the website, and nothing changes.
* **Check the wallet address.** The staking site and game can access the same onchain position when connected to the same Base address. The same email or login provider alone does not prove that two apps use the same wallet.
* **Nothing else to learn.** Useful if you are managing a large position from a desktop, or you simply want the numbers without the farm around them.

Everything else stays in the [game](https://mini.pixotchi.tech): items, buildings, quests, and the rest. Daily missions are tracked by the game app, so if you are chasing the **Stake SEED** or **Claim stake rewards** Rocks, do those from the app.

## Why stake? The strategic view

Timed building upgrades use LEAF. You can earn it by staking or eligible rewards, or obtain it from other players; supported instant upgrades use PIXOTCHI.

* **Spender path:** buy items with SEED forever (70% burned each time; generous to the economy, pricey for you).
* **Staking path:** deposit SEED to accrue LEAF, then use that LEAF for development. Unstaking returns the token amount withdrawn; the SEED market price and the value of rewards are not guaranteed.

Staking can support your farming plans without repeatedly purchasing LEAF. Compare the displayed rate, upgrade requirements, and your intended use before choosing an amount.
